Glue Pen Holder

Hello Blogland.

Well that's Christmas 2016 over with, am now getting ready to see the new year in. Hope you all have had a yummy Christmas and was spoiled rotten.

I was very lucky to have been given a cordless rechargeable Glue Pen for Christmas and am in love with it already, can see it being my new go to tool, so I needed something to house it to keep it to hand but safe and secure.

Here is my solution
Recipe
5" open topped box from Fernli
Bronze Filigree pieces from XCS
Black Gesso
Gilding Polish

As you can see it's a perfect fit!

A couple of Journal Pages

Hi Blogland.

This is just a quick post sharing some journal pages, well just because I can lol.

"If you obey all the rules you miss all the fun"

Move Ever Forward

I used my Dylusions paints for these backgrounds and various Tim Holtz stencils.
The butterflies were images I printed out.

Second GDT Project for XCS

Hello Blogland,

Time for me to share my second GDT Project for XCS

This time I altered a Fernli Tall Bird house.
The roof comes off so that it can be filled with treasures - Like Choccies.
I used my fave background technique - crumpled tissue paper - and covered the whole thing. gave it a coat of black gesso before using various colours of Gilding Polish.
For the feature on the front I used a chipboard heart, I filled the hollow with some pebeo fantasy paint but didn't like the way it turned out so covered it up with more gilding polish.
Once that was dry I then glued the Bronze Filigree heart flourish to the front and added extra bling.
For the charm dangle I used a selection of beads and bronze findings and added Tag Charm to the bottom.
To attach to the room I punched a small hole in the corner and used a jump ring to attach.

And there you have it.
I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the GDT this month and hope to do so again in the future.
Naomi (owner of XCS) is an independent seller of craft embellishments and is always sourcing more new lines, why not support her growing business, great value for money and fantastic products - you will not be disappointed!!

First GDT Project for XCS - Altered Book

Hello Blogland.

Today is a very exciting day cos I finally get to share my first GDT project made for Xanderous Crafty Stash.

The lovely Naomi posted for a GDT Call, I applied and was invited to be a GDT for December.
Of course I jumped at the chance and was sent some lovely bits and pieces to play with.

Here is my first project.
Front

Back

This is where I usually have my Recipe List, instead here are the step by step photos of how this came together.

Firstly I took the front and back covers off the A4 Sketch book (these are hard covers) and started adding texture.
For this I used molding paste, stencils, dry wall tape and some lace.
I then coated the whole thing (once dried) with Black Gesso.
This part is just using the front cover, I drew round the image I intended to use and added various sized cogs from Fernli Designs (these were coated in black gesso before being glued down).

Then came the fun bit - adding colour!!
For this I used Lindy's and Radiant Rain Mica Sprays and Perfect Pearls.
Then I simply added the image - which I coloured using Peacock Feathers Distress Ink - And all the Elements from XCS - these were gone over with Perfect Pearls to blend in slightly.
Once finished I simply reattached the covers to the book.

Here are the links to each element.

I cannot praise XCS enough, it's a fairly new business and is growing slowly but surely.
With more and more new things being added and great value for money you should really go check them out!!

If you enjoyed reading about this project please be kind and leave some love below in the comments.

Jewellery Stand

Hello blogland.

I am so stoked to be able to share my latest make with you, it's something different for me and for a first attempt I am ecstatic!!

I signed up for a challenge hosted by Fernli Designs FB group called
'Dress Me Up'
The idea was to alter one of their lovely dress forms.

It's gone from this

to THIS
Recipe
Powertex
Fabric and Lace
Bind-it-All wire
Small Pot
Gesso
Radiant Rain Spray - Cranberry
Black Acrylic Paint
Gilding Polish - Citrus Green
Glue
Plastic Bottle

I started by gluing the dress form to the base, then cutting a plastic bottle in half and wrapping round the 'waist' of the dress form.
I then cut and glued a Bind-it-all wire to a roped ring.

Next I used different fabrics with powertex and draped round the 'skirt', I wasn't sure how to hide the gaps between the skirt and dress form and started playing around with some ideas, I finally settled on using the coaster cut in half to make a shelf, I added a little pot.

Left it for 24 hours to dry completely and harden before painting/decorating.
I gave it a base coat of Gesso and spritzed the whole thing with the Radiant Rain spray, I wasn't happy with the effect so decided to paint over the whole thing with black paint, but only lightly so some of the purple colour comes through.
once it was completely dried I then dry brushed the gilding polish all over to give it some definition.

There you have it, please leave me some feedback in the comments below it is always appreciated.

Altered Mask

Hello Blogland

Tonight I am sharing something I literally just made, and it was a bit of a rush job do to the fact that it was made for my middle daughter who along with her boyfriend, my eldest daughter and a good friend of theirs have just left for a weekend away to attend a double celebration party, and it's a masquerade ball!

At the last minute I was reminded they didn't have a mask (arghhh), my eldest decided she didn't want one (phew), so I hunted through my stash and found a mask blank (yay!) and promptly got to work............... less than half an hour later,

TADAAAAAAAA

Recipe
Mask
Treasure Gold - Sapphire
String Silver Sequins
Gem Embellishments
Hot Glue Gun (life saver!)

Not bad for a first attempt and a rush job at that!

All that is left is for me to hope the mask matches her dress close enough.

New Botanicals Collection

Hello bloggers

Time for me to share with you the absolutely beautiful new dies launched today over at Craft Stash.

I was very lucky to have the chance to play with

It is such a shame I could not get a clearer photo of the detailed embossing the die has in the cut out, it is really something to see.
The crisp clear cut is obvious and amazing for such an intricate die, and that is really something for someone like me who has a tendency to be heavy handed.

I must admit I loved using the 'negative' of this die, it lends itself to so many design options, each one so effective and you do not lose any of the detail of the die itself (well not really)

Go check the rest of the collection out, you'll not be disappointed.

Butterfly ATC's

Hello bloggers

Today I am sharing a little random project I made yesterday, a couple of ATC's.

Recipe
Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Paints
Paper Artsy Crackle medium
Glitter Glue
Archival ink
Tim Holtz chit chat stickers

I started off knowing I wanted to do a crackle effect in the background so used the paper artsy paints and medium to achieve this, but other than that I didn't yet know what direction I wanted to go in.
After searching through my stash I remembered the circle and square wooden embellishments I had from Fernli Designs so dug those out and had a play with layouts, once I was happy I paints them with PaperArtsy Paint in chalk, then had an idea of adding images inside them and turn them into mini frames, but what could I use?
It was one of those Ah ha moments, Vilda stamps to the rescue!
I was given this set as a thank you and I adore them and not really had much chance to really use them - til now.
I was happy with the result but knew it needed that something extra so used the glitter glue and Chit Chat stickers to finish them off.
The end result is so pretty and I love them.

If you think so too please leave me some love in comments below.

CWWC Challenge #126 - Use Die Cuts

Helloooooooo Blogland.

It has been a little while since my last CWWC DT project due to me having to take a step back from things due to real life, but am happy to say I AM BACK!!!

The new challenge is to use Dies or Punches.

We are lucky to have been sponsored by Melonheadz and I chose to work with OWLS - Lineart
This is such an amazing set of cute little owls (and anyone who knows me well knows am NOT much of a cutesy person lol) and I simply adore these little creatures.

Here is my project
Recipe
Girly Owl
Copics
Background Paper
Tim Holtz Mixed Media die
Circle Punch
Sentiment
Flowers
Pearls
Washi Tape

I must admit I like the way this has turned out, I wanted to keep it fairly simple for a couple of reasons, one being I didn't want to lose too much of the die cutout.

Like what you see? Then go check out the rest of the DT projects, and don't forget to leave me (and them) some love in comments and look forward to seeing you join in with our challenge.
